Foothills Virtual is a fully online public completion high school for students who live in Georgia RESA Attendance Zones: 5 - Northeast Georgia, 7 - Griffin and 8 - Middle Georgia.
Enrollment Options
Full-Time Enrollment
Students may choose to transfer to Foothills full-time, at no cost, when they need a non-traditional approach to completing high school.
Before making this decision, students and their families should carefully consider plans after high school, electives, and extracurricular activities.
Part-Time Enrollment
Students may attend Foothills part-time while they remain enrolled at their resident high school.
This option is a first line of support for students, helping them get back on track for graduation while still taking advantage of the many opportunities offered by their comprehensive high school.

The Foothills Virtual Campus is open Monday - Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Each of our students is assigned three classes at a time. We expect each student to spend three hours per day/night working in Canvas and take three weekly posttests. This pace is what we consider to be adequate progress. Students must make a schedule for themselves and find an undistracted environment where they can have dedicated time for learning. Students who do not make adequate progress will be given the opportunity to continue their learning at a face-to-face Foothills site.

At Foothills Virtual, the Advisement Program is key to a student's success. Every student is assigned an advisor, who is also a teacher at Foothills Virtual. Each week, your student's advisor will contact them to set up a Google Meet, where they will check in with your child, help them set weekly goals for progress, and encourage them to stay focused on earning their high school diploma. Advisors contact students using all forms of communication: Google meetings, phone calls, text messages and emails. As parents and guardians, please encourage your students to respond to their advisors each week because their goal is to be your students' advocates and help them finish their high school education.

At Foothills Virtual, students are required to take posttests in proctored Google Meet rooms. To schedule a posttest, a student must meet with an academic content teacher to ensure they are ready to take the test. That teacher will schedule the student for a testing appointment. The student will receive a Google Meet link in their email for the agreed-upon time. In the testing room, students must have their camera and audio turned on and share their screen. These measures help us uphold academic integrity in a virtual environment.
