Workforce Development
At Foothills Regional High School, we strive to equip students with the academic knowledge and technical skills they need to thrive in today’s workforce. We aim to open doors to a broad range of future career opportunities, ensuring our students are well-prepared for success—whether their journey takes them to college, the military, career-track jobs, or a blend of these pathways.
To build and support the next generation of the workforce, Foothills offers a variety of programs and opportunities designed to give students hands-on experience, certifications, and skills that will directly translate to the workplace.
Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education Courses and Pathways
Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) pathways allow students to explore various career fields, developing both technical knowledge and critical thinking skills. These pathways are aligned with Georgia’s economic needs, ensuring our students are workforce-ready upon graduation. Click here for more information about CTAE.
WorkReady Programs
Through innovative WorkReady Programs, Foothills provides students with practical training in high-demand industries. Our offerings include:
Electrical Associate – Offering essential training for roles in electrical systems, from residential wiring to industrial electricity.
Food for Life – Providing foundational skills in nutrition, food science, and culinary arts.
Manufacturing Associate – Developing skills for careers in advanced manufacturing environments.
Welding – Preparing students for certifications and careers in metalworking and fabrication.
Upon completion, each program is designed to provide students with industry-recognized credentials as well as a pathway toward employment or further education in these key industries. These courses are only offered periodically at select sites.
Work-Based Learning Opportunities
To bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace, Foothills offers Work-Based Learning (WBL) experiences. These opportunities allow students to gain firsthand experience in careers aligned with their interests. By working directly with employers, students apply the skills they’ve learned while earning credits and often compensation, enhancing both their résumés and their understanding of various industries.
